Pride in Place
Presenting at the Mountain-Plains Museum Association Conference.
My first trip to Aspen, I presented this morning with Francine Carraro at the Mountain-Plains Museum Association Conference on Pride in Place: A Museum/School Collaboration, our multi-year collaboration between the North Texas Institute for Educators on the Visual Arts (NTIEVA) and the Wichita Falls Museum of Art.
Our presentation was about a multi-year collaboration in which NTIEVA and the Wichita Falls Museum of Art selected and trained four art teachers from Wichita Falls to research and develop a curriculum based on Texas artists in the collection of the Museum and local, living Texas artists. The resulting curriculum was shared with Wichita Falls art teachers through two workshops.

We were pleased with our receptive audience, who made it for our 8:30 am presentation!
We were fortunate to present first thing this morning at the Aspen Museum of Art. The Museum is brand new, only open a month, and we were the first to present in their beautiful room.

Francine and I enjoyed our group so much!
You can access the curriculum online at the Museum’s website here.
We had to have a selfie in the reflection of those wonderful letters.
