Fun at the Folk Art Flea
Once a year the Museum of International Folk Art Museum in Santa Fe hosts the Folk Art Flea Market, to raise funds for the Museum from folk art donated by the Friends of Folk Art and others. I was able to attend this year and was waiting at the door when the museum opened. Here you see my prize find, a paper mache horse and rider made for the Days of the Dead. I have other pieces from this same workshop, so I was drawn to him immediately.
This was a large woodcarving from Navajo artist Delbert Buck, one of my favorites. It was in the Collectors Corner.
The folk art was separated by country or by kind of art, such as textiles, costumes, and clothing.
