Wednesday, July 11
Upon arrival in the beautiful city of Santa Fe, New Mexico, check into the charming and comfortable Inn of the Governors Hotel. Our hotel is well located, within walking distance to the central historic plaza, galleries, restaurants, and incredible shopping. If your schedule permits, take some time this afternoon to stroll around and familiarize yourself with “everybody’s favorite city different.”
Friday, July 13
After another tasty breakfast, we will spend the day involved in a variety of art-making activities with applications for all grade levels. Small group activities, games, and discussions about folk art and how to teach it in your classroom are all part of the agenda.
Tickets to attend the International Folk Art Market are included in the workshop fee. We’ll spend the day at the market learning about folk art from all over the world. This is an unparalleled opportunity to view and collect cultural objects from all over the world and to meet these master artists and observe their skills firsthand. Public transportation from the Plaza in Santa Fe is provided, so you will
have the flexibility to enjoy the day as you wish.
This morning, we’ll reconvene after breakfast to complete any hands-on activities or projects. A closing presentation and sharing will conclude our morning. The afternoon is free for you to explore more of Santa Fe on your own. In the evening, we’ll enjoy an unforgettable final dinner at a favorite Santa Fe restaurant.
