Zoomorphic Mask

Moi, Middle Sepik River region, East Sepik Province, Papua New Guinea.
Woven basketry mask, possibly representing a parrot. Central crest runs from top of head to base of mask. Open work eyes decorated with white clay and ultramarine pigment. Two attached ears with fiber decoration. Overall condition: good, pigment flaking, surface dirt.
