University City, Stadium, facade, RIVERA mosaic -- zoomorphic head
Rivera was much influenced by Mayan art, and his mosaic is composed not of finely cut stone 'tesserae', but irregularly shaped stones which are larger than pebbles. The overall effect is of an unpolished opus sectile piece.
