The Jungle
Lam had an intense interest in the various cultural influences on Cuban art. He moved to Madrid in 1923, becoming involved in the fight against the Fascists in 1929. That endeared him to Picasso, who introduced him to the Surrealist circle when Lam moved to Paris in 1933.
