Spatial Concept
The purposes of this work and other such works was to reject the traditional use of canvas to create the illusion of space, and assume an integral part of the space in which it was placed. Such a theory was very radical for the period, and anticipated the American minimalists, Primary Structure sculptors, and conceptual artists by almost twenty years.
