Constructive Painting
In 1926 Torres-Garcia's mature style developed after returning to Paris and meeting the minimalist-constructivist painters Mondrian and van Doesburg. During this time he developed the style for which he is best known, Universal Constructivism, forming the group Circle and Square. Constructivism reduced painting and sculpture to basic geometric shapes and simplified colors.
