University City, Library general view
The fact that the tower of the University Library completely covered in mosaics (out of native Mexican stones) with pre-Columbian motifs relates to Frank Lloyd Wright's ideas about harmonizing with the environment as well as to the post-revolutionary attitude about indigenism. The cantilevered terraces also refer to Wright's architecture, while the geometric tower with pilotis supporting an architrave hark back to the International Style.
