The twentieth century saw many changes in the way both art and architecture were created. Although many Latin American and Latino artists were influential in these various movements, European and American names are usually better known. In this digital set, artists from throughout Latin America and the United States introduce students to contemporary art movements as well as cultural traditions. Your students will learn how these artists have been influenced by events and artistic styles of the twentieth century. Memorable images guide students through contemporary Latin American culture, from the Mexican Revolution expressed in the realism of the mural movement to the continuing effort to maintain origins through traditional techniques.
