Self-Portrait
In this self-portrait from 1997 Close used visible brushstrokes in a variety of shapes and vibrant colors. The result is more distanced from the original photograph than Fanny/Fingerpainting, although the artist continues to explore the boundary between self-expression and systematic creation.
